Geoff Dyer & Dave Gendron Residential Seawalls
Client type: Residential (two neighboring homeowners)
Location: Florida
Neighboring waterfront homeowners Geoff Dyer and Dave Gendron came to Ultramarine Solutions to replace their aging seawalls before failure occurred. Neither wall had collapsed, but both had reached the end of their useful life and were showing the deterioration common to older waterfront systems. Together, the two projects covered roughly 450 linear feet of seawall replacement aimed at protecting the shoreline and preserving the value of both properties.
Pools in the Way of a Standard Tieback
Both homes had swimming pools sitting close to the seawall, which ruled out a traditional tieback system. There simply wasn’t room behind the wall to install one without disturbing the pools and surrounding hardscape. The challenge was achieving the structural support the new walls required without sacrificing the existing improvements both owners wanted to keep.

Span Beams to Protect the Improvements
Working with the engineer, Ultramarine incorporated span beams into the seawall design. The span beam system distributed the wall loads properly while avoiding any interference with the existing pool structures and keeping disruption to a minimum. The new seawalls were built with 22-foot composite panels chosen for long-term durability, corrosion resistance, and performance in a harsh coastal environment. Given the tight residential setting and limited workspace, the job called for careful coordination of equipment, materials, and installation sequencing across both sites.

Modern Walls That Preserve What Matters
Ultramarine completed both seawall replacements while protecting the existing improvements on each property and keeping production efficient across the two sites. Geoff Dyer and Dave Gendron came away with modern seawall systems engineered for long-term coastal protection, with their waterfront amenities left intact. The project shows Ultramarine’s ability to develop practical engineering solutions for difficult site conditions while delivering high-quality work in tight residential environments.
